Lee Alexander McQueen: 2 Years On..

On February 11th 2010 Lee McQueen sadly took his own life at the age of 40 & was found dead in his Mayfair apartment in London; following his mothers death a week prior. This news shocked the Fashion Industry and was splashed across the media for weeks! 2 years on  Lee is still remembered and mourned by thousands! I for one, am certainly one of those people!

His work still lives on with Sarah Burton taking over his Fashion House and continuing to create wonderful pieces that truly reflect McQueens style. With three Ready-to-Wear collections and The most talked about wedding dress of 2011, Sarah Burton has certainly managed to live up to everyone's expectations. I will never forget the genius of McQueen and how he changed the course of fashion and indeed the lives of those who worked around him.

“There is no way back now. I am going to take you on journeys you've never dreamed before possible”

"It’s a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together."
— Lee Alexander McQueen

“I get my ideas out of my dreams… if you’re lucky enough to use something you see in a dream, it is purely original. It’s not in the world — it’s in your head. I think that is amazing.”
― Lee Alexander McQueen

"I want to empower women. I want people to be afraid of the women I dress"
