Nail Art #14 Seeing Spots

I've been quite busy lately, so spending time on my nails has been pushed to the back of the queue which has therefore lead to lack of nail art posts (sorry guys). I needed a break from my dissertation work last night, and was in the mood to paint my nails and settled on doing this cute little spotty design, I feel its quite fitting for bonfire night also!

How to get this look:

1. Paint your nails with a basecoat to protect them from the polish.

2. I used a pale pink shimmery polish as my base. You can keep your nails clear if you like or choose a darker polish to do this with. I wanted just the spots to be my main focal point.

3. Choose a base colour for your spots. I used this Barry M deep purple colour. I took a small piece of sponge and dabbed it on 1/2 of my nail in varies places. I needed to coats of this.

4. I then selected random colours, not all of which I though complimented each other, but colours that would stand out against the purple and even clash!

5. I used various different sized dotting tools and dipped the end into some polish and began spotting away!

6. I used a white polish last and a small dotting tool to just brighten up my design a little.

7. Finish off with a clear polish to protect your design!

Bonfire Warmers

I think Autumn/winter is my favourite time of year for buying clothes. I have a serious love for knitwear (maybe a very unhealthy obsession too), and I love wrapping up in layers to keep nice & warm. There's just nothing better than snuggling up in a big thick woolly jumper (just can't keep me away from knitwear you know) in front of a bonfire!

I think Bonfire night may just be my second favourite time of the year (after Halloween of course). I just love fireworks, Catherine wheels are my fave for sure, and spending the evening spending money on the dodgems or winning pointless prizes/goldfish that die after two days. What more could you ask for? haha. If I was able to buy a new outfit purely for bonfire night, this would be it!

I've been eyeing up this Tartan panelled coat for a while now. I think I've gained a new obsession for tartan recently, as well as my many other obsessions! I love the fur stole, I can imagine it being very cosy and warm! I just don't agree with the price tag! £80 for a coat without student discount is a lot of money!

As for the Tunic & Cardi, I think these go perfect together! Deep blue is everywhere at the moment, there's just no escaping it! Ark do lovely knitwear too at really affordable prices! They have this cardi in Oxblood & Cream if blue is not your colour.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow night. There's a bonfire and firworks at my local park in Leeds which I'm going to which also means a break from the dissertation reading! Anyone love bonfire just as much as I do?

Trick or Treat on the High Street

I'm a sucker for anything black//lacy/weird or just general Gothic styles which is why I love this time of year! Halloween has to be the best Holiday of the year, I just love fancy dress (the free candy part was well and truly over for me years ago though, boo!). & this year the High Street have produced some amazing collections that makes the little Goth inside me jump up & down with joy! Mixed with the Oxblood trend at the moment that everyone and their grandmas are raving about is sending me insane! I literally want to buy everything, anyone willing to get me these things? No? Okay.. I really do feel like I'm a vampire in the making. Seriously, keep watching my Instagram for my Halloween costume!

I've complied together some of my fave items from Tophop & Asos which I think are super cute for Halloween and a great alternative to dressing up in some ridiculous costume like I, of course, will be doing!

21st Birthday

Yes, thats it... My youth is behind me, I'm now officially an adult. AN ADULT! Oh my, 21 just sounds so old doesn't it!? It really didn't hit me until I said it out loud a few times to myself. Anyway, despite the fact that I'll be needing a walking stick in a few years, I had the most amazing birthday this year! I thought I'd share with you a few photos from the day.

To begin my birthday celebrations I went home on Sunday and was welcomed by this hugeeeee fresh cream birthday cake! It literally does taste just as good as it looks, and was definitely demolished by me and my family several seconds after I blew out the candles. My family bought me some lovely gifts (post soon to follow) and we headed out for our annual birthday celebrations meal. The pictures above show what I wore for the meal, you may have noticed the dress and shoes are from previous posts! The shrug however, was made by my mum a few years ago for my 6th form leaving do, isn't she talented?

I also received a Swarowski Crystal bracelet from my best friend Aqeel! how nice is it!? He knows me so well, I couldn't have picked out anything better for myself if I tried! I'm now also part of the Thomas Sabo club, as my best friends from uni bought me this cute little charm bracelet. The key charm was definitely spot on! My friends have such good taste!

I'm a very lucky girl to have all my family and friends around me for my birthday, I had the best time I could have possibly asked for! Now the countdown begins for the big Three O. Oh dear...
