February Favourites

With the blog makeover & everything, I thought why not try a little bit of beauty blogging too? I'm by no means an expert though... I don't I know if I'm using the right products for my hair or skin type, but who is, ey? This month I'm featuring things that I've become a little bit obsessed with and will no doubt be my everyday essentials in due course.

I've seen this on the shelf at Boots numerous times, but it wasn't untill I heard so many rave reviews from fellow bloggers that I decided to give it a go. I actually only purchased this yesterday & quickly jumped in the shower to soak my locks with this stuff. And I have to say I am so incredibly happy that I took the plunge and bought it.. my hair has never been so smooth, soft and shiny! Definitely going to be using this regular as opposed to my other deep conditioning treatments.

Now you'll see by a lot of my favourites this month, I love a good hair product. Having such long hair I really like to look after it so I'm always on the hunt for anything that's going to maintain my healthy hair. I picked this up in boots (currently 1/2 price) and thought I'd give it a go. I have to say, I'm a sucker for pretty flowers on packaging, so that also drew me in. So far so good! You only need a tiny amount, so this will last me good few months.

Now everyone and their aunts & grandmas in the blogging world will have seen these on instagram looking all pretty with giant pieces of fruit floating in them.. am I right? Well, I had to jump on the bandwagon and purchase one myself. It's perfect for your handbag as I find plastic bottles get a funny taste after a while. You can buy this one HERE

Lani tropical hair treatment is another thing I discovered on Instagram and yet another hair product.. surprise, surprise! It a little bottle of heaven for your hair and I would definitely recommend this one out of any hair treatment I own, espeically for dry or damaged hair. The instructions state to apply on your hair 30 minutes before you wash your hair, however, being the indulgent person I am, I left it on all night & it really does work wonders for dry hair!

Illamasqua is quickly becoming one of my favourite luxury brands. A lot of people rave about MAC cream shadows but I have never been a fan. I picked this up from Asos in shade Embelish and love how it can translate from day to evening.

It has a beautiful shimmer and is really pigmented that you only need a dab!

Nars sheer glow foundation was something I've had my eye on for a while, so when I got paid I headed down to Selfridges so they could do a colour match. There's nothing worse than buying an entire bottle of foundation that you can only wear when you have a tan because you went a shade too orange.

Now I suffer from really dry hands, even more so in winter and even more depending on the hand wash I use. This Planet Spa african shea butter from Avon has been a lifesaver for my hands! It's very thick in texture but rubs into your skin instantly - oh and it smells like salted caramel! What's not to love?

At the end of 2014 I decided to dye my hair black as opposed to the medium brown I had for many years. So that meant my Seventeen brown eyebrow pencil (which was amazing btw) no longer suited - sob! This is when my hunt began to find a black/grey eyebrow pencil to take its place, but it proved difficult. Every pencil I used had me looking like I had two slugs on my face which wasn't the look I was attemoting to go for... And then came Illamasqua brow cake in shade Graze (big happy entrance song). I actually apply this with an eye liner brush so I get good precision and wall-ah! No more slugs!

Ed's Hair & Beauty: 4th Birthday!

Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the 4th birthday party celebration of Ed's Hair & Beauty! Upon entering the beautifully decorated - and very well colour coordinated may I just add - salon, we were greeted by the lovely staff with champagne and orange juice.

There were lots of treats for us that night including live performances from two incredible singers, hair treatments from Schwarzkopf and lovely blow drys!

Every one at Ed's Hair & Beauty were very welcoming and friendly and my stylist worked wonders on my hair - giving it the ultimate volume - something which I can never achieve myself with my hair being so long and heavy!

I met the lovely bloggers Sarah, Nina, Joanna & Anna - it's always great meeting new faces!
This event was organised by the lovely Stephanie from LedigoPR

M.I.A

Hellooooo... It's been a while hasn't it?! I have to apologise for my missing status over the last year as being a full time worker really got the best of me. In January, 2014 I got my first proper job since graduating as a still life stylist. A still life stylist is basically styling clothing on anything but a person. Sounds crazy, I know...

This year, I feel like I want to make my blogging come back and to really give it my all this time round. My blog is currently waiting a huge make over (which will be happening in the coming weeks) and in turn lots of new posts - yaaaaay!

I feel like I need to get my life in order a little.. I'm on the hunt for a new camera, locations to shoot around Manchester and hopefully attending lots of events!

Well, what have I been up to in 2014 I hear you say? My next few posts will showcase some styling work along side my little trip to Budapest in December!

enjoy x

Green Ditsy Print

Dress - ASOS   //    Boots - Missguided    //    Bracelets - ASOS

I forgot to post this little outfit last month, silly me ey? This was back when the weather wasn't so dark and cold and you could venture out the house with just jacket and cardigan. Now you'll see me in just layers of coats and lots of fur type things.

This is my first green piece of clothing believe it or not.. green is my favourite colour too but I lack many green coloured things which I really must change!

Due to the bad weather and the fact I'm always layered in a million things to wrap up warm has been the reason to my lack of posts. I need to venture out more and brave the cold for you guys to see my outfits underneath! Hopefully the weather will improve so I can get back into my blogging routine!

I've also landed a new job (YAY) which means I'll be up and out the house a lot more rather than sat in my pj's or in my gym gear so I'll be posting a lot more then too!

I hope you've had a great xmas and new year!
Lets hope 2014 is a much more successful blogging year!
